Question about caseless SSD

no they are not standard SATA interface they are M.2 SATA / mSATA they go in on board slots coming out on some desktop boards but found on most laptops and miniITX boards
 
ahhhh, yes, I mistakenly got an mSATA adapter one time, that makes sense

Most ultrabooks use drives like this, very small foot print because of no case etc etc.

And as stated above, it will not work (without an adapter) in a normal 2.5" drive bay.
