Question about case lights?

So if you get a case that has lights in it do they have a switch to turn them off when u dont want them on? Or is that something u have to wire up yourself?
 
Wouldnt, you still have to plug in the lights into the power supply when you get the case? Or do they get power from the motherboard(not sure about this one). If you dont give them power, they wont turn on. And no, I will say the case has a switch, but it shouldnt be that hard to make one if you know electrical systemns:D
 
Yeah I figured not, my cpu is in my bedroom so I don't know about having indiglo blue shining on me all night, or when I'm trying to score. :p

Most lights have switches to turn them off.

LED fans, however, will be lit as long as they have power. I've yet to see LED fans that have shutoff switches for the lights.

God I wish fans did have a special wire on them that you can loop to all the other fans in your case and then have one main switch that you can turn of the LED's in them. That would be so useful. I have some Coolmaster Blue LED fans, and im not saying the lights suck, im just saying that I do not need them on all day. Exspecially during the day when im not even home.

The amount of power the lights draw is probably minimal, but I would like to turn off the lights by virtue of my computer being near where I sleep.

I assume using a fan controller to slow down the fans will also dim the lights.
 
fan controller will dim the lights, but not by too much. if the voltage is too low, they start flickering which IMO is even more annoying.

i would just suggest getting fans with no leads (clear ones look good) and using the cathodes when u want some light as most cathode kits come with switches. If u dim these with the fan controller, ull reach a certain point where not the whole tube lights up and/or it starts flickering and makes everything look funky.

as for the leds and other lights that are built into the case, there are no switches provided for you. for my case, i just went to OSH and home depot and bought switches for couple dollars a piece and installed them onto one of the bay covers.
