Question about acceptable temps

What, in general, are considered acceptable temps for AMD CPUs? I've got my X2 3800+ overclocked to 2.2 Ghz right now, and while it's running perfectly stable (so far at least), it's pretty warm. 36C idle, and 52C after a couple of hours of Prime95. I'm only using the stock HSF, so I know I can't push it too far, but are the current temps acceptable?

Well theyre a bit high for stock HSF (Obviously). I run OCCT Torture test and it only runs the cpu at about 51C ( I have a Zalman CNPS7000C Copper Sink, 92mm ) when overclocked to about 2.35GHz, im running a S754 Venice Core 3000+ 2GHz.

52c ain't NOTHING to worry about dude......

The X2's can handle anywhere from 62c up to about 67c max temps depending on revisions....anything under 55c is FINE...even GOOD....just think how hot those OEM boxes run.....

Before I got my Typhoon cooler, I was running my X2 @2.6ghz at 55c to 57c ALL DAY LONG doing folding at home....TMax on this chip is reported as 67c so I wasn't worried....heck I evne ran it at 60c for a few hours one day using a stock cooler....no problems, no crashes, no errors...

Right now I see 47c to 48c load temps, in the hot ass summer I get 51c to 52c.....

Awesome. I'm planning on getting a better HSF, just didn't have it in the budget when I built the system. But the temptation to OC just got to me. And thus far, it's running beautifully, stable as hell.
