Hey People,
I was at the mall yesterday and I bumped into a friend that works for Dell.ca and we had a long chat and caught up on things since we haven't seen each other since high-school etc.. so anyway after the whole catch up I asked him about the new XPS Gen2 Laptop and Desktops... then I asked him questions about comps.. he didn't know jack really.. just crap anyone else would read in a dell advertisement... so anyway they had this whole display about ATI Tech being used in Dell systems.. so then a ATI Display caught my attention is was a X800XL or Pro .. don't know really.. but the Card was attached with velcro and an extra GPU was attached to show the chip... well I was like "that's cool, I'd love to have that to display in my room".. so then my buddy is like.. "You want it?.. " than I'm like nah but it would be cool just to keep around since I'm a nerd... so he's like "whatever dude.. just take it!" ... then i'm like "no man.. won't you get in trouble?.." he's like "fuck it.. we get tonnes of shit and I don't think anyone would care if this card was missing".. so I'm like "Okay sweet!!' then I got his no# and said I'd take him out for beers sometime etc.. then I went on my way... now I've got this cool ATI Display with GPU .. and I was wondering if the card would actually work on a PC? since it is real and has stickers on the back.. but the velcro is blocking the serial no# and model etc.. the velcro seems removable.. and I was checking up on photos to see if there are cards which look like it.. but no luck I check the Fan on the card and it seems to match the XL series.. but the weird thing is there's a 6 Pin Molex in Black and there seems to be 8 Extra Blank DDR Ram Spaces + the 8 that are Filled.. it Uses Samsung 431... and the reason why I can't test it, is because I don't have PCI-Express at the moment.. so I wondering if any of you came accross one of these.. and if they would work in a system.. or is it just a dud with no purpose?
