question about 7800gtx

should a single 7800gtx be able to run cs source or farcry at 1920x1200 with everything maxxed .. 4xaa/16x

rest of specs are in my sig .. thinking of selling my 3 day old 7800gtx and going back to running a single one
 
a single GTX will prolly struggle abit at that rez (since u wanted EVERYTHING on).

i mean, if u have it already, KEEP IT :)

so how about with just 4xaa and everything maxxed ??

i have it but i cant stand the temps .. they are insane ..
 
Uhhh if the temps arn't causing instability, then I wouldn't worry. My machine can't run Far Cry in 1920x1200 mode with HDR on unless I either take HDR off or crank down the resolution.
 
hmm just tried cs source at 1920x1200 with everything maxxed .. 4x and 16x ..
on de dust with 36 people on the server .. no problems .. my fps hung around 90-110 .. soemtimes dipping into the 80s
 
Just put a fan in your case blowing air onto them. That should get rid of any stagnant hot air that's hanging around your video cards.

What are your temps anyway?

That's CS Source. Not the most graphically intensive game out there. I'd try running FarCry at that res and see if you like it with only one card.

My thinking on the subject is this. While a single 7800GTX is so damn fast right now, you can't tell much of a difference between it and two of them. This will not be the case in a year or so.
 
i doubt ill have this card for more then a year

so ill sell my other one .. wait and see how crossfire develops .. and then i can
make my choice down the road
