I'm about to order 2 laptop drives. One to replace my dead drive in my Sony Vaio (mainly used for surfing net, skype, light light gaming / emulators, lots of movie watching) and one to become my OS drive in my lil server (WHS, streaming movies throughout house).
What do you think would be the best setup?
The black in both? Blue in both? Black in laptop blue in server?
I bout to make the order and basically came to this question.
THanks for the help.

Western Digital Scorpio Black WD3200BEKT 320GB 7200 RPM

Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD2500BEVT 250GB 5400 RPM

I would go Black in both since they are the same price, it's more space and faster and a 5 year warranty over the blue's 2 year.

However, do you need that much space for the OS drive in WHS? For my server, I went with a 64GB SSD : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148441
only $5 more. This is only if you don't need space, which I didn't since all the media is on 2/3TB drives.

I really thought about doing the SSD thing for the server but i thought WHS needed a 160 gig minimum. Gonna be WHS 2011. I've been in and out of the loop for a bit.

ah, ya I forgot about that. the default WHS 2011 needs 160GB but there is a workaround online, I'm sure you'll find it if you google 'install whs 2011 on small drive' or something. I think it involves customizing the installer via a USB drive.
