My cousins in Florida have an old PC they want to upgrade. It would probably be better if they got a new system but they still want to upgrade. They know next to nothing about computers and all they were able to tell me is that they have a P4 2.8Ghz with 240mb ram and a 9gig HDD. Since it's pretty old, is it safe to assume they're using Rambus?
Should I call them and ask if they have 2 sticks with heat spreaders on one side of each stick? When it post will it say 1066FSB?
I just need some tips that I can use to find out if they're using Rambus or not.

Thats an pretty high clock for rambus. I thought most rambus P4's were in the 1.3-2Ghz range. I would call and ask abouth the heatspreaders tho. Maybe get the to run cpu-z. It will tell them what memory tech they have.
