OK:
C2D e7200 @ 3.8ghz with a TRUE (i've ran it at default with the same problem)
4x1gb of ddr2 800 4-4-4-12 or 5-5-5-15 ballistix tracers (i've tried both and neither help the problem)
P5Q Pro
8800gts

these are all the things that matter I think.

The problem is the computer will run stable no problem for hours/days/weeks but it ALWAYS BSODs eventually.
I reboot into memtest and find errors(a ton of errors on slot 1 and slight errors on slot 2).
I turn off the computer take all the memory out and put it all back in in the exact same slots OR different slots(it doesn't stop the problem from coming back). After I restart the errors vanish(until they randomly reappear).

I have sent the board in for RMA but ASUS said there was no fault in the board.

I know it cannot be the ram because I have also used 4x2gb with the same results in the same memory slots. It really doesn't make sense that dust in constantly getting in the same memory slots but it could be possible. I have filters on all my fans.

ANY INPUT YOU HAVE WILL BE HELPFUL.

I had something similar happen with a client. We changed out the RAM, no change. Swapped the mobo, no change. Swapped the CPU and problem solved. If you have a CPU you can swap give it a try. The last thing I can think of would be the PSU.

Then again, have you made sure that you don't have any risers on the chassis where there aren't screw holes? You could have one that is shorting the board out.

board actually has more risers than the box, ill try the cpu.

after testing the cpu and another, i have come upon an amazing error. I got a BSOD and when i get back into windows, my program files folder is missing. all the files are simply missing. The shortcuts and icons still look right which implies they are still there but their addresses have simply been removed.

at the same time i can't get the motherboard to boot from a cd at all. another finger pointing at the motherboard.

i've decided to just throw the board away since asus has asserted that the board is without error. clearly they are choosing to ignore my problem.

This board is broken and asus will not admit to it.
