I just bought a 9800 pro, and it seems that this latest addition to my rig has finally become too much for my 330watt enermax...

i'm looking for a replacement:
-powerful ~450-500watts? should be enough, with strong rails
-quiet (my enermax has had it's fans replaced with Panaflos, to give you some idea)
-has those quick disconnect molexes! (this is important... i'm sick of having to wiggle the damn molexes to get them out of my HDs and cd roms)
-affordable ~$100 or so

i've seen several people here reccomend the 530watt fortron at newegg.. and it looks good but i'm not sure of the noise level and molexes.... the lower power fortrons seem to have one large quiet fan, and do posess those molexes, but i'm not sure if 400watt is enough when 330 is not?

anyway.. my rig is:

some Epox KT333 board w/ XP2100+ and 512MB ram
2 maxtor HDs
a cdrw and dvd rom
and 9800Pro

This will be upgraded with a faster chip, more ram, and a DVD-R/RW soon

the 530w Forton i have has the molex connectors you're looking for.

hmm.. could you post a pic or a model number? i've been searching google for pics and some have the molexes and some don't...

Any psu can utilize the Easy Grip Molex Connectors, they are being resold by practically everyone now. The Vantec kit even comes with a removal tool. They fit the same way a regular molex does, it just has the extra plastic wings on it for the "Easy Grip" functionality.
