Noticed that many of the Dell refurbs now have 90 day warrantys. Was wondering if their quality from the Dell outlet is enough to cause concern on the 90 warranty.

Oh, SUPERB!

They're basically just like new. I've bought 4 so far and every time I see them, it's like a little treat.

They get shipped in the same exact way, like they took it to the front of the packaging station over again.

You really don't need a 90-day warranty. Just make sure the pixels are all okay and there are never any scratches.

Although, if you can find a better price on eBay, that would be good too.

I think it really depends on model to model. Monitors without a scaler board such as the 3007WFP-HC is likely to last many years while those that are equipped with a scaler board could suffer problems years down the road. I suggest you extend your warranty at all cost.

You'll waste more money by doing that. I've had my 3007WFP-HC for 3 years, no fault. Same for the 2407.

QFT! My 2407WFP is from June 2006 and still looks brand new and has NEVER had any problems! These Dell monitors are the bee's knees!

QFT^2! Dell monitors are the industry-standard. There's literally nothing better. I have never and will never buy anything else.

Buddy of mine got a 30" Dell on refurb, it's still working great 3 years later, came looking brand new with box n all.

I got a refurb from them once. Had a dead pixel smack dab in the center. Returned it right away.

Just my, very limited, experience

seems a very risky thing to do unless the price ia LOT cheaper. They not very confident on these refurb units to only offer 3 months warranty.

The last time I had a refurb monitor it died after 2 weeks.

Was it a Dell though? There are a couple on eBay I'm looking at. A couple 30" around the 700 mark. I was going to buy the 27" ultrasharp but I really think the 30" will give me more productivity when it comes to editing and working with my photos.

was a viewsonic, I got it when my original died, then the refurb I got over warranty only lived 2 weeks.

I have had some great luck with refurbs. These dell 24" are very cheap at $199! I may just have to get a few! I wish they had some of the 27" displays... to me, that's the sweet spot is.

Hi, I'm interested in picking up a dell refurb monitor, but I'm confused about their return policy/warranty. I've seen some people posting a 90 day warranty, but the Outlet page clearly states that all Refurbs have "fast and free shipping" as well as "same as new warranty and support". Also, they say all Dell Outlet products come with a 21 day return policy.

So which is it? 90 days or full 3 years?

Either way I assume the 21 day return policy would be in effect, correct?

Thanks, hope this isn't taken as a threadjack
