All of you Linux folks can rejoice at the fact that Quake Wars will be coming to an O/S near you, just not with the initial retail launch. It is however a very high priority.

However, he did ensure that a Linux client is coming, and that it will be of top quality when it's released. "Once these things wind down (in the upcoming weeks) I will start working specifically on the client," he wrote. "But fear not, ATI and Nvidia have expressed interest in getting a Linux client early, so they can review how it performs and get their drivers adjusted. When we release, we'll release a high-quality product, just like we do on Windows."

Sweet! Now I can play something other than Doom3 and UT2K4 (w/o Wine, Cedega, etc.) when I'm on the ol' Linux partition!

This is the game that could replace WoW for me, and that's saying quite a bit. I'm getting kinda sick of all the class-balance changes in WoW... brutal when it takes a couple months or five to get to maximum level. And I loved ET back in the day. Playing an FPS again will be refreshing.

I'd like to see more and more developers taking on this challenge! :D Big up to them for doing this...
