The series in general I bash, I expect no better from #4. Now if you'll excuse me.....*goes back to playing Battlefield 1942/DC/2 and UT.*

as for quake4, i think it's multiplayer is sharp...and the single player will be a bonus.

I could never get into the UT series of games. Generally I like Quake games better. Mostly because it has a lot of active mods.

Never played quake 3... looking forward to this.... my 6800ultra should run this doom 3 powered game jsut fine :p I am expecting 1280x960 max settings 2xAA 8xAF :p with my 6800ultra :p
 
On the same day as FEAR, too. Dammit, there's only space enough on my drive for one at a time. I'll be snagging the DVD edition, being only 1 disc and including Quake II and the mission packs.

They supposedly pushed the engine a lot further than Doom 3 ever did, you may be suprised. As long as i get 1024x768 max detail playable, i'm happy :p
 
Q4 was fun to play @ Qcon i love it im definatly buying it asap
 
Definately buying Quake 4 instead of FEAR. I'll pick FEAR up later but Quake was my first pc FPS. I <3 Quake.
 
Glad to hear this news, Quake 3 was great. Don't feed the trolls for they think they are important and have to let everyone know they aren't going to play a game. Pathetic.

Man I love the UT series like no other and think its actually faster and less noobier than Quake but I'm really excited about this game. I think most of the dueling games are dead right now and this game will unify the communities. Oh and BTW ut2007 is going the way of the noob.

Quake 3: Online only (or bots); no plot, no story

Quake 4: Single player game; direct sequel to Quake 2 (the one that DID have story)

Wow you guys smashing Q4 do realize that without quake and doom and the other games that ID did. Almost none of what we have would be possible.

I was a little worried at first, but when I played it at QCon, it was amazing! I have the pre-order and can't wait to get it.

Hehehe. I will admit, I never really played Q3 and most of my experience is with UT Original/2k4, but b/c I got my 6800-based card (lol), I should be looking for decent framerates in this game.

And to the shock of many...my comp sucked ass before '99 -- which translates into literally no pre-UT gaming experience. Yes, that means I never really played Q1 or Q2. If only I could play those now...

Take yer BF, HL(2) and UT2k(x) CD's and melt them into the coasters they are.
 
I think Quake 4 is a pretty safe buy. I wish ID would give us a demo though.

Go get a new graphics card, 6800ultra is so old, like old old. It's like ancient old.
 
lol UT troll gets 2nd post!! Way to prove to everyone how fuckin pathetic you are...

Everytime I join a UT04 DM server I get bored from walking over the fragged corpses, and I have barely played UT 2004... Yet all the time spent in quake - quake 3, I still get my ass kicked.. Lemme guess, UT2004 is still "new" and people are still getting good.... Well tell them to hurry up...

... and back on topic, Quake 4 Gold makes me very happy, and I cannot wait to murderize you all online... if my pos rig doesn't choke and my ISP gets even more hops added along the line... :p
