Quake 4 beta SMP patch released

Players who have a system with one of these configurations will notice performance gains in QUAKE 4 of anywhere from 25% - 87% depending on processor type.

Anyone with an X2 - download this patch and post some numbers please, it could well be enough to convince me to dump a perfectly good 2.6 GHz Venice for an X2.

Oh, and despite what everyone on these boards has been claiming, it looks like Q4 isn't SMP capable out of the box, after all why would they now release a patch that adds it?

if its not then why would the x2 4800+ hand the fx-57 its own ass in all benchmarks of q4?
 
hehe. it is.. funny though.. I never enabled SMP while playing Quake 4.. lol

now I will :)
 
Quake 4 had SMP support out of the box, the demo didn't, at least from what I know.
 
I would hope a similar patch for Doom 3 will be released in the near future...
