I just build a q6600 cooled with Tuniq tower in Antec 900 case. I love it, I can overclock to 3.150GHz at default volt and up to 3.6GHz at 1.36volt

at stock, it idles at core0:42c, other core 35c. at idle, the Tuniq fan runs at 400RPM
my room AC is around 80F (or 27C).

is the temp too high?
 
at 3.6GHz, it loads at 61C (core0) and 50+(other core) when I ran Ortho at 50% load.
Remember that my room is 27C(80F)
 
At that overclock and roomtemp you are just fine, no need to worry until you get over 80*C at 100% load.
 
what you use to measure temp and is your computer even prime stable at 3.6 1.35
 
Just download the latest Prime95 and run at 100% load.
here are the load temp at default clock (2.4GHz) using CoreTemp:
core0: 55c
core1: 51c
core2: 49c
core3: 48c

again, my room is around 27C
are those temp too high? I want to make sure that I sit the Tuniq correctly and there is no heat danger

Don't agree. Anything above 65C is potentially dangerous. This is not something I made up, but based on what has been read in Intel white papers.
 
I overclocked to 3.465GHz at 1.37volt and run Prime95 for 10 minutes. Here are the load temp using CoreTemp:

core0: 61c
core1: 56c
core2: 56c
core3: 58c

My room is hot, I can feel it. I set my AC around 78F-80F (27c) but in the PC room, it is even hotter.

How are those temp?
 
those temps are fine for a quad and will not damage your cpu. my quad has a 1.2000 vid and runs much, much hotter than that (around same vcore) 24/7 with an ultra 120.

a g0 has a thermal specification of 71C according to intel, so just keep it under there and you're fine.

Taking the side off the pc isn't a solution, of course it will lower temps but it also looks like crap.

Missing the point. If taking the side off results in a drop of more than ~3-5 C you have bad case airflow and need to cut some vents, install some fans, or something.

After time the computer will clog up slightly with dust. What would happen if something were to block one of the air vents?

I'm confused, he was talking about running his PC in a room at 80F, which is about what my room is all the time; 78-83. You said you wouldn't run it at those temps...how does this relate to clogging up with dust/air vents?

Anyway, it's not a big deal I just don't understand why you said that in the context of the comment.

I meant I wouldn't run a Q6600 @ 61C.
