Quad Data Rate / Quad Channel Ram - Ever?

Well, we had single data rate ram... and Singel Channel....

A few years ago we evolved to Double date rate ram.... and Dual Channel

Will we see Quad Data rate ram anytime soon? or Quad Channel?

also is DDR2 like Quad Data Rate?

eventually.

in a weird sense, ddr-2 is really quad data rate. the signal sends two bits per clock, but the signal runs at 2x the speed of the ram chip itself, so it's quasi-qdr (and explains the much higher latencies)

as far as quad channel in the sense that you need four sticks of ram.. probably not soon as the complexity of the board for 4 channels of ram would be.. quite amazing.
