Anyone hooked up an Intel Quad Core (Q6600) to the Intel D975XBX2 motherboard and received a 0 celius CPU temperature within the BIOS?
A friend just got one and I helped him install it. It booted up and then turned off while we were in the bios. There then was a red light on the motherboard when turning it back on. After looking in the manual is said CPU TEMPERATURE (overheat) LED.
Checked and the heatsink to the processor is spinning as normal, but in the BIOS is still says the CPU temperature is 0 celius. What could cause this? Anyone ever experience this?
I was thinking that possibly updating the BIOS would help, but I would hate for the BIOS to get cleared only for the system to randomly shut off again.
