First of all ~Hi. Great forum you guys have here. Have really enjoyed reading the posts.

I have decided to go the Q-PACK route rather than shuttle, since I have heard way too many problem stories with the SN25P.

The computer will be used for photo/video editing, general web browsing and a little gaming BF2 etc.

Questions are:
1. Is the processor / memory choice okay? I know nothing about overclocking but want to learn.
2. I would ideally like to have a memory card reader, wireless network card built in (so don't have to use up one of the usb slots), and maybe install a firewire card (some video capture from my camcorders). Can someone make some recommendations for these 3 items and if they will all fit inside the chassis for a nice clean look.
3. Do I need to update any of the fans or anything else while I am still in the building stage?

for the processor, i'd say go with a 3700+ san diego core instead. a 3800+ is a waste of money, cuz its still the venice core (which means it has only 512kb l2 cache vs 1024kb in the san diego core, more = better), but it costs more than the sd core. the memory should be fine, you could also go for a pair of 1gb crucial ballistix instead, but i dunno how user friendly those are, so you might not want to if you're new to oc'ing. i really don't know, though. wait till eclipse pops in sometime :p

everything else looks fine. good luck building ur rig :)
 
the 3700+ is a good choice. I would say get an X2 3800+ over it though. You will not be disappointed.

The Crucial Ballistix are the best bet for 2gb memory along with OCZ Platinum EB. The OCZ is better with timings while the Ballistix can go higher freqs stable.

If you can stretch the extra $16us i would go with a Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 250GB from ZZF

Your 7800GT will have VIVO, negating the need for a capture card as long as you have S-Video or RCA jacks.

I would stray away from adding in PCI cards as they'll block airflow to you 7800GT, which is going to run hotter than normal in a SFF case. If you can, wait for more 430 SB boards to come out that have Firewire and better onboard sound.

I'm not a big fan of Samsung products (except maybe flat panels). That hard drive only has a 1 year warranty. I suggest either a Maxtor 16 meg cache Maxline III or a Seagate 7200.8 drive in that order of preference. Both have 5 year warranties.
 
You do not look like you need onboard video, and thus, you do not need a 6150 board.

I would, however, highly recommend the 430 SB over the 410 SB.

The 430 SB has better audio, two additional SATA II ports with more RAID options, gigabit LAN with the nvidia fire-wall, and fire-wire support built around the SB.

Thanks for the link to the motherboard. Seems perfect for me.

One final question. Do I need to buy a seperate heat sink for the motherboard?
 
If you plan on overclocking, you don't want the Gigabyte board, otherwise it's a good stock board.
