Qpack or shuttle SN25P?

I cant decide if I should go with a Qpack or shuttle system. I know Im going to get the following.

X2 4400 (have no plans on overclocking really)
atleast 2gigs, would like to have the option to upgrade to 4 but it is not necessary
7800GTX 512
onboard sound is fine


I would like to have it pretty silent as my Sk41g is a screaming monster of sound. Im not sure what else I need
 
I have a QPack setup and it is nearly silent. I would vote QPack.

Swap out the PSU for an Enermax 420W Noisetaker, swap out the rear fan with a Vantec Stealth, and use a Swiftech MCV64-X to cool the processor. You won't know it is on.
 
I had an SN25P and swapped to the aspire and love it :) lots more room and better upgrade options.

It also is far quieter (now I have an silencer on gfx and quieter 120mm fan) than my shuttle and cheaper ;)

The SN25P might be made a bit better but not as good as the X-QPack ;)
 
I have both. I like both....

Its a toss up

I currently would get the QPack with either teh new MSI Tforce 6150, Biostar, or Asus. Mostly because of the cost of the shuttle and nothing more. I think the Tforce 6150 is just as fast as the Nforce 4 Ultra on the SN25P. I did not see any difference in overclocking or otehrwise. A good 6150 board with gigabit, firewire, and the 850 audio is similar if not a true push against the SN25P. Also with your aftermarket cooling options, you may be able to make a quieter, or faster version of your machine with the X-QPack for comparable money as the SN25P. I mean X-Qpack, high end Power supply, Heatsink and Tofrce Board are less than the shuttle (albeit, maybe not by much).

Overall I think they are both a good option.
 
I'm debating the same thing as I plan on upgrading over this Xmas. My first priority is silence, and my second is size, because I need to carry this box on a plane at least 4 times a year, up to 8. I heard it is wider, anyone know if it'll fit in a standard carry on bag / backpack? My guess is I'll probably go QPack this time around, because I want the silence, but I'm just worried it might be a little too large for easy carry-on.

Anyways, I like this thread, more suggestions please!

Having owned both, I'd say if you are going to travel with it 4 times a year DEFINITELY get the SHUTTLE.
 
The only problem I've had with my SN25P since March is the orginial nvidia drivers and Bios were somewhat unstable. But not a problem since upgrading these.

There is a good setup guide here in the forumn to keep you out of trouble. Do a search.

However, I've pushed mine though the ringer with video, games and lots of other multimedia. Setup properly it is as quiet or quieter then any desktop I've ever built.
Performance is awesome.
