Qpack or Microfly?

I was thinking of changing my hp case to the microfly or qpack case. In your opion, what would you choose or would you recommend something else if so what? Im also thinking about puting a cothode light in the case mabey at the top and bottom of the left side of the case and the right side if this is possible.
 
ya i was thinking the microfly, due to i can use my power supply and use my dvd burner and not be risking that it will fit, would these fit in the microfly?

The microfly says it has a depth of 15 inches so i was thinking they might fit since those are 12inches. Let me know if they will or not, dont really want to waste 20$ and they dont fit.
Also is the back exhaust fan led if u buy the one with windows?
 
Since you're gonna put cold cathodes in it, you're gonna go for the version with windows. Keep in mind that the windowed version of the Microfly doesn't have any intake air vents on the side panels. The Qpack at least has two vertical rows of vents at the front of each side panel. While the Microfly has more vents at the back than the Qpack, it doesn't do any good in helping cool the harddrive(s) located at the front.

I don't know why Microfly did this really, since their non-windowed version has a big amount of air vents on each side panel.
 
they will fit. The case is long enough and I believe a few folks here did just that :)
 
First guy, whichever way you swing. Other than the front bezel and a little length, they're basically the same case.

Noise? Noise seeps out of every hole. Quietest cases are the ones designed to channel it through the case away from the user. Cases designed like they were in the middle of a tea party between the Triads and Yakuza suck for quietness.

Then again, the 80mm mount they put on the front of the Microfly totally destroys that theory. Mount a Tornado there, if you want noise.

If you have quiet components and very slow moving fans inside, noise seeping out of holes shouldn't be an issue. But I guess if you don't mind having your hard drives running as hot as if someone had poured hot tea from that tea party on them, then it's ok. ;)

Take the SG01, has holes everywhere, at the top, sides, back, yet some people are managing to build some very quiet systems out of them.
 
Hey guys!

As stated in above post, not much difference in the 2 size wise other than a couple inches depth. The cold cathodes will fit in either one, but they are a tight fit in the Aspire. I have had 2 - 12" cathodes in my QPack and they "just" make it, you have to really bend the wire on the end.
 
Anyone have any pics of their microfly in the dark with the cold cathodes on in their case that they would like to show :)

This is true, but I had an easier time with a 15k hard drive in my ARIA than this X-Qpack and I have done about everything I can to silence my drives, with the space limitations I have - which is not a whole lot.

Quiet components generally equal slow components so if you can direct the sound downward or out, it lets you maintain performance while keeping noise at a minimu. My last ATX case was completely paneled with Volara foam. Noisiest components was a triple fan TTGI PSU and noise levels dropped by a 1/3 by ducting the rear exhaust fans downward.

I didn't like the red so I pulled it out. Now I have 2 blue cathodes to install. Another red shot...
