For qpack modders here... Have any of you tried cutting a blowhole/fan opening through the front of the case? I have an evercool wc-202 and I'm trying to figure out a good place for the 80mm fan+radiator other than towards the sides of the case like some others have done... There's definately enough space to have the fan on the left (under the pwr button) removing the HD and pwr leds (don't really like them anyways) and the reset button (I can live without it) and probably use an empty 8mm fan casing, or something similiar as a mount to allow better air passage.

Doing something like this... what's the best thing to use to cut through the uneven case face's plastic? The metal I'm not too concerned with, I'll use a metal drill bit and some clippers or something.

Also, I'm assuming that I'm best off setting this up to pull cool air from the front into the case, and still keep the 120mm (plus the 120mm radiator attached to it kinda like massive did) still blowing towards the back to remove hot air. I figure cool air, although passing through the radiator, will be good into the case - pretty much blowing directly over the ram etc.

Originally I had planned to leave the 120mm radiator etc in the 5.25" housing and cut a hole in the top of the case to bring in air, but with a dvdrw drive below it, there's no clearance at all for airflow; so unless I use an external solution, I'm going to have the 120mm on the back fan instead.
 
actually, yes, pretty much just like that. I wish I had seen the microfly before buying my qpack, but whatever - I'm not dropping extra bucks on it now haha.

actually, taking a look at that, I guess I might be able to just mount into the aluminum, and just drill some holes to allow some breath for the fan/radiator - at least for now and see how that works out. If I have to I can play with opening it all the way up, or even replace the whole face with a flat piece of black pvc or something.
 
You might try making your own faceplate if you got some free time :) I can think of a few cool things you can do
 
here's a question, and I guess the answer would involve someone who has both the QPack and MicroFly. What if you took the faceplate from the MicroFly and put it on the QPack? Would it fit? I know it would certainly solve the fan question.
 
good question..I would think so but you woud have to drill some for the wiring to work ok. I have 2 micro flys and one qpack but I can't test it at the moment :)
