Qpack build- GPU

I have everything worked out except vid card/mobo configuration.

In a q pack, would you go with

1) (2x)7900 gts, EVGA sli board
2) x1900xtx , Foxconn Mobo

My primary concern will be gaming, but it will be going into the bedroom, so the wife and I will be watching movies (the tv duties will just be up to the monitor) from time to time as well.

I realize heat may be a concern w/ either set up, I was thinking about adding a 92mm fan to the PSU side of the case, and controlling both that fan and the 120mm via rheobus.

Rest of specs: 4400+ w/ Zalmann 7000, Enermax Liberty 620, 2 WD Caviar 400gb HDs, 2 GB OCZ Titanium RAM, NEC MultiSync 20WMGX2 LCD.

hey, if you do a 92mm fan on the side, be sure to use good placement if you have a sound card as well.

I personally don't like SLi for SFF because they aren't going to run at 16x each but split 8x and 8x. The X1900 is a good card but why the Foxconn board?

I just heard really good things about the Foxconn. I don't plan on overclocking, so I'm just going for features and stability. Any recommendations on a board with that in mind?

Running at 2x8x won't make any performace difference. It's much like the difference between AGP 4x and 8x, or the difference between AGP and PCIe, for that matter. Those high-end video cards won't saturate the bandwidth either way.

I would recommend going with the nVidia cards. From what I've heard, the fan on the ATi cards are really loud, and if the computer's pulling theater duty, you'll want minimal background noise.
