i guess the "heat is on" since Lian Li is also readying their matx case
now that i'd be interested in. are there any renders/pics/specs of it? (i haven't really been following stuff for a while >.> )

Wow...

I haven't seen such a functional case since the Chieftec Dragon series. But then again, I haven't seen much cases lately.

That's one well thought out case though. Like many other, I am a little turned off by the "barn-like" housing/top cover. I do dig the two handles though; just hope they are going to be sturdy enough to withstand the weight of the entire system when someone is holding onto just one of those bars.

Chieftec? Really? Those cases always seemed cheap to me. This case's quality is going to be on par with Lian Li, Silverstone, and the higher end Cooler Masters.

Some other company is knocking off this design, I'm trying to find the site, it's due out soon.

Find the site please, it really don't care about the "quality" of the metal, just as long as it holds up. If it's around $100 I'll pick one up, as opposed to the $300 one, $$$ talks.

Well, I meant from the functionality standpoint.

I actually like the looks of this case, the one thing that bugs me is that it appears theres no front ports.

I don't think its a big deal..the only useful front ports are USB and Firewire and it would be nice to see one or two of those in there..but what can ya do?

I would like the looks of the case a lot better if the front and rear of the case conformed to the shape of the middle. I really dislike the look of those two sections sticking out.

Yeah, its the USB port that I would like, for my flash drive, but I can deal. I see they priced their full systems at $3000, but have they actually released a price for the case? Thats the only thing that would prevent me from getting the case, if its too expensive.

It is going to be expensive..it has to be. Remember the SG01 launched at $299 so if this one is 300 you shouldn't be shocked.

I am still waiting on Dave to get me those black pics. They're should pe pictures of the Black Qmicra by 4/26. This is going to be a quality case. I've made up my mind, I'm saving for one.

Actually, the SG01 debuted at around $180 if I remembered correctly. You were probably referring to the $299 Falcon Northwest FragBox instead?

I am pretty sure the SG01 was $300. I remember a time when it was at $200, so I'm sure it didn't debut at $180

It went to 180 within a month....but it was 299

Here is one of the earliest review I could find on the SG01 showing a price of $190:

Tom's Hardware SG01 review

Now that I think about it, I do recall seeing a thread linking to an ebay page selling the SG01 for over $200 before anyone else had the case in stock (suposedly even before Silverstone USA had them in stock). But that was obviously the wrong price (the guy selling on ebay probably thought he could price gouge on exclusivity) because as soon as real stores carried them, it was under $200.

Regardless, I wouldn't be shocked to see Qmicra debut at $300 if it is made in the USA.
