For it to mean something the sites should require that moderators use their real names, city that they live in, and an e-mail address (I know.... They could use an e-mail address they never check, but it's a start.). Sites that have moderators that are anonymous (all you know of them is that they are a moderator) and sites that don't require moderators to use their real names, the city they live in, and at least post some kind of e-mail address are only contributing to these kinds of problems.
 
For all the people that think paying with a USPS money order provides some kind of safety blanket - THINK AGAIN! Been there. Done that. Still out the money.

Paying with a money order or cash nets the same results. If you don't believe me now you will if/when you get ripped off by someone after you pay them with a USPS money order. You can file all the complaints you want but don't expect any results.

Yup been thru it as well, they can give you a copy of the cashed MO but thats about it

Report filed w/ Investigations. They seemed very interested. Anyone else that has had problems please pm me w/ your info.
 
Well I talked to the detectives in Blue Springs, looks like I have to also file a report in my area, appearantly it has to be filed where the victim is.

Chris if your reading this, just think about what your doing to yourself? Setting yourself up for a pretty shitty future. The $ involved in our transaction + the mail fraud is a felony. Your going to have a hard time getting a job, (not that I'd want you in our military) and joining the military, buying a house, ETC.

The report has been filed, so it's too late for me to stop it, but if you call me and straighten it out, I can probably have the charges dropped. But if you get pulled over in the next month or so, you probably going to jail. Sucks to be you. If you don't plan on straightening this out w/ me, don't worry, I'll get over losing my equipment, not mention about a 7th of my bonus that I had spent on it, but you'll be f'd up for a long time. In the Army we call people like you shitbags. If you want to be a shitbag that's fine.

What a dick head, in a coma or some lame excuse my ass....that proves everything. Thats 10 days after he stopped logging on hard forums and anandtech so obviously hes okay. If something was wrong with him he wouldnt AND COULDNT have signed for the package. If he was honest and something bad happened to him....He wouldnt have gave three different addresses out to begin with. Not to mention hes been banned as a troll on 2 other forums. AND he never told anyone about it.....TROLL. If he was honest he would have explained what happened in those situations, not just hid the past.

Aint shit wrong with him.....no doubt about it! I was giving him the benefit of the doubt till I heard he signed for the package! Im so glad you got delivery or signature confirmation rip!

I've realized that there have been increasingly more and more trolls on this forum. The more there are, the more it makes me wanna spend more money and buy it online. But now, when a FORUM MODERATOR, who is supposed to be someone who we trust to handle transactions, is fucking peopel over, then I'm really left speechless...

It's like having a crooked cop in the precinct. This doesn't make me happy at all...

Unfortunately there are many of those around. I still have faith in the goodness of people and it was this faith that people put in me that allowed to rebuild my rep. Shit happens and I hope that this isnt a case of a good trader gone bad but all the facts are starting to point in the ugly direction. Good luck to everyone trying to resolve deals with Q.
 
All I can say is that I hope you get your problem resolved riptide.

I've been scammed over a $300 monitor years ago and never recovered anything.

Still pisses me off. Sounds like you're dedicated to tracking him down though. Good luck to you. I hope for the best.
 
Considering just how much positive feedback he has received, i just find it so tough to swallow that a person so committed to positive trading one day up and decides to never give a shit again. Just doesnt make sense to me how one turns from awesome to shitbag so quickly with no fumbling in the middle.

Happens all the time on eBay. Get a bunch of good feedback and then screw dozens of people out of high dollar items.

Glad to see that douchebag signed for it. At least we know he's healthy enough to knowingly steal merchandise. Having a value of over $300 will get the police on his ass. We have 3 addresses so all these homeowners know the guy. They may think it's all fun and games right now, but I guarantee when a couple officers knock on their door they will rat out this bastard. I hope he gets arrested and charged with a felony. I hope he gets a cell with Big Bubba and shower time becomes hell for him.

He was banned as a bad trader on 2 other forums once about a year ago and another 2 years ago. And....again a week or two ago by this forum. 3 strikes your most definetely OUT!

No I understand what you were saying totally!

I couldnt really imagine someone wasting their time to build up lots of feedback to rip someone off for $700 later on. But in reality its happened many times before (but sometimes for larger amounts of money like thousands), more then likely happened here based on the FACTS and will continue to happen in the future so I wont be surprised anymore when it happens again...and again. I just hope it isnt me or someone I know because it can happen to anyone when someone has tons of feedback, is established and maybe even a mod like this situation, you'd never suspect anything until it was too late!
 
Still, this is something of a worst-case scenario. Fact remains that in order for this to happen, the seller had to build up a lot of good heat to begin with. That's a lot of good trades, and satisfied traders. If you go by heatware references, that means that in order for something like this to happen, the majority of the troll's trades still have to be good.

What I'm saying is that just cause something like this happens occasionally, heatware is not be ignored. It's still a very good way of reducing the odds of you being scammed.
 
some of you stated that he was previously banned from 2 other forums for bad trades, so why was he allowed to continue trading in [H]? personally being banned from 2 forums is enough, no need for "3 strikes then you're out".

Hey smart guy, if you READ the thread you'd know that this info wasnt known by anyone except qbackin himself until a week or so ago and therefore you wouldnt have even posted that question! So why was he allowed to continue trading on H? Because No one knew...thats why. This was already explained in the beginning of the thread. You know...the big discussion about how he became a mod with his past? Again..because none of the mods or forum users knew anything about it.

And uhh..since i'm the only that said anything remotely close to anything about 3 strikes it seemed like you called me out. I really shouldnt have to explain but I guess I will since you took the 3 strikes line outta context. A guy said that he could hardly believe that someone with so much feedback would rip someone off with no fumbling in the middle. I responded that he was banned from 2 other forums letting him know there was some fumbling in the middle and basically saying it doesnt matter anymore because this is the third time and theres no getting out of that. If this was the second or first time I would have said the same thing. It just so happened that this is the third time and I used a well known saying. It has nothing to do with my opinion, it was a simple comment and i'm the only person that said it. It doesnt mean I or anyone else felt the need to give him 3 chances. As far as we knew until a few days ago...he had no bad history. No one ever said we knew this was from the beginning of him trading here either so why would you even ask that? Did you imagine that someone said that or what because i'm really confused here? I never said there was a need for 3 strikes...there wouldnt have been a need for 2, let alone 3 if the forum or mods knew. A poster searched google earlier in this thread and found the info about qbackin.

And to be clear, personally 1 banning from a forum is enough for me and most likely for the rest as well.
