If anyone has Qbackin's home or cell phone number please contact me through PM.

Thanks,

Josh K.

*edit* *UPDATED - I now have cell phone number... only a matter of time*

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT IF YOU HAVE ANY CONTACT INFO FOR QBACKIN TO PLEASE PM ME. DO NOT POST HERE IT IS AGAINST THE RULES.

On or around July 27 I posted my 360 for sale or trade w/ accessories. I had a few offers but nothing I was going to accept until Qbackin PM'd me and said he would trade me a Sony Vaio Laptop for it. I asked if we could have a middle man, to ship to who would confirm both products and send them out and we'll split the costs. His response was:

"Middle person? I have great refs, and Im a fs/ft mod :)"

I checked his heatware and hardforums refs, and I made the decision that he should be trusted. What pissed me off the most now is that he said he was an FS/FT mod, and I was actually gullable enough to believe that he should deserve to be more trusted than any other member.

Anyways. I sent the Xbox and accessories priorty w/ insurance through USPS the following morning after PT. I pm'd him that day to give the information and to let him know it was shipped. Since then I have pm'd him 2 or 3 times a day asking if the product arrived or if he has heard anything. I have never gotten a response, nor has he posted on Hardforums since that day. I don't have a phone number, and the address he gave me is his neighbors house (I've found out through some research). I've also found that he has used another address about 5 miles a way before w/ another forum user in the past.

At this point I really need his CELL or HOME phone. I will get in contact w/ his neighbor as soon as I can catch them at home. I also found another Lois Wolfe on the same street who I have been calling.

Normally I wouldn't worry after just 7 days of waiting, but it's as though he suddenly dropped off of the planet. He had over 180 refs on Heatware. But this product was expensive, especially on Soldiers pay.

Monday I am going to the post office to claim the item stolen or missing w/ my insurance. THey will conduct an investigation. I'm also contemplating on making the drive up to MO, unless I can find a hardforum user nearby who wants to stop by his house for me. (I will compensate).

Also I'll be contacting JAG to see if they can help me at all, at least they will tell me what my options are. Anyways, if it is a scam he will not get away w/ it. I have his name and his original address, so I will be able to track him down eventually.

Any help in this matter is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Josh K.

Qbackin, or whoever you are (cause you certainly don't live at the address you gave me), if you are reading this you best contact me soon through joshua.kurk@us.army.mil

I'll be calling back soon to the "Teya Harrison" address you gave me to speak w/ the owner. I'm also going to try the other address that you gave another user on this forum.

You don't have much longer, I'm giving you till EOB Friday.

PS. If anyone has any information for Qbackin AKA Chris Wolfe please PM me. Addresses that you have used previously w/ him, phone #'s. ETC. Heatware ID.

So far I have 3 different addresses, all w/ in a 5 mile radius, that he has used before. I also found a "Wolfe" that lives near by. Something is going on. Anyone w/ successful business w/ him please PM me with as much info as possible.

Let's hope this thread doesn't get closed by one of his moderator friends like mine did.

wow, I'm shocked. Been doing business with Qbackin for a while.. never had a single issue with him.

It was closed because it was getting out of hand, NOT because we are "friends".
At this point no one has had contact with him.We are trying also. Believe me , we want this settled too. If anyone has contact please let us know via PM.HIs name being posted is fine. Please DO NOT post any other info

Thanks for everyones help. I'll post more information as I know more. So far all I know is that he does not live at the address he gave me. He's given one out to other users that was about 5 miles away, and he's also given one out on the same street w/ a different #. I can't figure out why he would do this, or what's going on. But it just doesn't make since. He had so many good refs up until this point. I hate to contact the authorities, but it looks like I will have no choice.

Aww man, sorry to hear your getting jerked around rip! I hope it works out somehow, someway but I have to doubt it with the other circumstances and the different addresses being given out. Its definetely shady at this point and I think its unexcusable, I dont want to hear people claiming something is probably wrong or some lame excuse defending his actions, he needs to defend them himself. When your giving out different addresses to a few places or more that your not even residing at then your well and able to log and send some PMs or post in a thread. Well enough to try to outsmart anyone is well enough to finish a trade. Sick and family emergencies aren't worthwhile defenses either, i've had many bad things come up and never once did I use it as an excuse. Theres always someone that can log on and post or PM someone for you and you can always take 15 mins out of the day to package and send something whether or not you want to. But you owe it to the buyer thats why you need to. I wont get into a big long post about the situations i've been through and was still able to get packages out, dont want this post to get too long and talk about my trading ethics, I explained that stuff in a post last week at AT. It comes up alot in bad trader situations though where ppl like to use the sick or family excuses! We also know he was trusted and reliable BEFORE but that doesnt really matter anymore to me at this point. Even his heatware has had some blemishes so hes not perfect like some have claimed, hes exhibited bad habits before and now appears to be doing even worse actions so there may be no turning back and being a respected and trusted trader again if this turns out to be a bad trade. I still hope it turns out okay as Qbackin was a respectable trader.

Good luck rip, keep us updated!

yhpm riptid3 dont know if its gonna help ya though... LMK

Thanks to everyone that has tried to help. Alot of things are very fishy at this point, but it's still to early to call scam until I figure what's going on, and hear from Chris. I'm going to wait until EOB Friday before I post everything.

Good searching King, its obvious no one knew about his past except him. Im also wondering the same thing King? How the fvck did that get overlooked... He should have told others of his past and on his application for a mod position sspecially when your dealing with peoples money! And when it comes out later (and it did earlier), you look really bad. I dont want him moderating a FS forum that I hold in [H]igh regards, I respect teh great traders and mods here and I also started my trading here awhile back which is why I cannot see a known bad trader being a mod, that totally goes against what being a mod is all about IMO.

A few months ago... myself, qbackin and others put our names in the hat to have a chance at a FS/FT mod job. I got a PM with an application a few weeks later and im sure others did as well. I filled it out truthfully but I didnt end up getting picked which didnt bother me at all because I knew I was a good candidate and that there were other good candidates as well. I knew I could try again in the future and I was happy for the others who got picked.

But after reading about his past on other forums today, the only part that I am now pissed about is knowing that he got picked over other guys that could have done the job perfectly and who do not have a bad trading past! His background wasnt checked obviously considering he has been banned from at least 2 different forums (which could have been easily found with little effort) but the real blame lies on his shoulders for not disclosing the information. Thats something you should definetely bring up in an application for a mod job IMHO and especially when your applying to be a mod in a FOR SALE forum!!

Its like lying to an employer on an application when asked if your a felon, you lie and say your not and they find out months later. Whats going to happen? Your definetely getting fired. A mod should take his duties seriously, be an excellent example for new traders, have good trading ethics, enforce the rules and whatever else is required of you. Now that there has been some threads about him, conveniently disappearing and now this info about being banned as a bad trader at other forums has came up, what kind of example is that for others? A horrible one...

Well put smut. [H] is what I consider a high-quality trade forum; lots of regulars, relatively few problems with trolling etc. What frustrates me is that someone then rolls around, applies to be a mod, and is taken purely at face value and set in that position (from my point of view which is obviously less informed than those involved) with little further research. If I could google some combinations of Chris's aliases (Qbackin, Backinthedays, etc.) at work and come up with the information I did it makes me wonder how hard the mods are/were willing to work and how they intend to maintain the integrity and quality of community that distinguishes [H] now.

[/soapbox ranting] Time to check woot

I'd like to mention a few things here.

When we put out a cattle call for new FS/T mods a few months ago, qbackin got a public thumbs up from something like 10 people in that thread, way more than anyone else. A cursory investigation showed no problems here, good heat, yadda, yadda, yadda.

I forwarded the bios I got back from candidates to the other FS/T mods for their opinions after eliminating a few for certain criteria (under 18, too new, prior user notes for being a problem, etc.). We narrowed it down, and ran it by Kyle before anyone was approved.

I think that overall, the mod team at [H] is the best anywhere. They are hand picked, and if they don't cut it, they get cut. Period. But we are not in a position to hire PIs to do background checks.

qbackin seemed to have been performing his mod duties well before he disappeared. I don't want to pass any judgment. For all we know, he could be in a coma somewhere.

He has been banned by Kyle, the line of communication is open for him to come back and explain things.

Certainly as part of the application a real name, address and contact information is required? Has this information been forwarded to the concerned parties?

So far there have been (at least) 3 different addresses used by this guy. I'm lucky I even got my laptop... too bad the warranty was misrepresented and the unit now sits as a paperweight. This forum has members from all over the world. I'm sure there are quite a few members in his town that would be kind enough to pay the guy a visit?

i've delt with Qbackin before
not a single problem
i think he sold me a fan controller....

surprises me that this would happen..

Finally got a hold of neighbor, haha they cussed me out saying he "used" to live next door neighbor was one I sent package too. Saying not to call back, but I will. They said no package has arrived. Thats the address he gave me, was to there, the neighbor, so I will be caling again.

Got a hold of neighbor again, told him situation and he calmed down and help me out. I now have what I believe to be Chris's cell phone number. Neigbor said he moved. But assures me no package arrived. Neighbor gave me number. So I called and left message. Like I said, I have too much information, so if I have to I will make a ride to MO. Going to wait on that decision until I hear from post office on Monday.

Wow ripped by a mod !!!

Guess I am done here if the mods are ripping people...

Good luck to the OP

Glad to hear you're getting some help. I dealt with qbackin twice and didnt have any problems at all. Its kinda odd that he is acting like a troll right after he became a mod.

Looks like he has been banned also.

Its really sad to see someone abuse their mod powers to rip people off.

Stories like these are one of many reasons i am picky about who i buy stuff from and sell stuff to. I never send money via Money Order, they are very hard to track down compared to a personal check or paypal, and under no circumstance will i ever ship first, i dont care how good your refs are. No money = no product. The moeny sent to me stays in paypal until the transaction is complete.

Hopefully you can get back what you lost here. Chances are you just might have to call the cops on him.

I believe this is an isolated, but regrettable occurance. Plus this is preventable as evidenced earlier in the thread and will be looked out for more in the future I'm sure.

How it is hard to track down USPS postal office money order? in order to cash out the MO, you must give them your I.D and they write it down the I.D # on the MO after you cash it.

OP: you shouldnt have any problems to get your money back after you provide evidences to Postal office, but it may take some times.

Preciate all the help and comments. From what the neighbor told me he moved last week. So maybe something else is going on. Anyways I will present info to USPS to get money. But he will not get away with this regardless. He will not get 700$ in free XBOX 360 equipment. It don't work that way. If it is a scam, he will pay for it.

Please mods if you can continue to contact him.

Did you call the cell phone numbber?

Jesus, $700 is no chump change. I'd say this was a scam, think about it! Sounds like a good move for someone to move after giving 3 different addresses and getting stuff shipped to them first, now he cant really be tracked down since his current address is now UNKNOWN, convenient huh?

If the moving thing is true and the neighbor isnt in on this, why the hell didnt he tell his good friends on the forums before hand? You'd keep it a secret if you were plan on using it as a getaway plan right?

Dillusion, you are his friend. You said in the other thread you talk to him "regularly". Just curious if you heard anything or heard about him moving a couple weeks ago before he disappeared?

Wow. The neighbor thing sure is odd. Maybe they're in on it? Packages don't usually get lost. Maybe qbackin is taking them off the door step but it seems too fishy. I bet the neighbor is part of it.

I don't think Neihbor is in on it. He told me that Chris told him a package may arrive this week. But nothing has arrived. It was insured so they have to have somone sign for it, When I find out who that was on Monday, I will be contacting at person.

Plus he knows that the authorities are involved. And was willing to cooperate. Once I told him I was in the Army he seemed more willing to help. Sometimes it's my only foot in the door LOL. But anyways I have Army friends that live at Ft. Leonardwood.

I don't honestly know if this would work, but if you could get his original address, and send a letter to him with DC and Forwarding Requested, you might be able to get his new address if he changed his address w/ USPS. You get a win win if you DC it, because if it IS forwarded, you would get his signature w/ the new address, and if he refuses to sign, you get the letter back, AND you get his new address. There might be an easier way to get it done that I can't think about right now tho.

ps Too bad you don't have a friend win the student loan collection business. Everytime I get a phone number my first call, the day after the number goes live, if that damn collection agency wanting more money. ;)

Thats one way, How about go directly to a postal office and ask them if they willing to track him down after you told them what happened ( some are willing to help, but some are a** hoes). it wroth a try right?

Im not his friend, i just did trade with him a while back, and he seemed like a great trader. Where did i say that i talk to him all the time? Dont make things up for no reason... If this is really a scam, you should involve local PD and local Marshal...

 Like someone said the UPSP asks for ID and they write that down when you cash the MO. Also its a federal offense if MO money is stolen.

Let's see.... he's committing mail fraud, felony theft, and perhaps wire fraud... considering this is the internet. He could get some good jail time.

Your right, it was Dillusion that said he talked to him regularly, not you. That was my mistake.

I didnt "make anything up for no reason", I just posted the wrong persons name. Ive already apologized in a PM to you. I dont make shyt up...its in the other thread where someone said that they talked to him regularly, that would make that person his friend. I couldnt find the thread earlier or I would have posted the right name from the get go.

My above post has been edited to reflect that.
