I was waiting for the Q9450 to become available in systems at AVA,I knew they'd be more expensive than the Q6600 - but $360 more?At their pricing for the 6600,that makes it $660! Guess I'll have to go back to choosing between the 6600 or E8400.:(

Wow, that's a pretty intense price jump. I'm surprised considering how the price the E8400 compared to 65nm.

They're not that expensive. Q9450s about $70 more expensive than a Q6600 at standard disty pricing. Must be a typo.

it should really be like $90 more max, dunno why

Edit: I checked their site and it's only under the high performance configs, it's not even an option for the Socket Intel systems, which are the ones people usually configure w/ cause they're cheaper

It kind of shocked me,as boutiques go,AVA is one of the lowest in prices.Don't think it's a typo, due to the way they list components in their configurators, from lowest in price down to the highest. The 9450 is actually listed higher in price than the Q6700.

You might want to call or email and ask about it - won't cost you anything. It could very well be a mistake.

I think its a typo...I got an email from Microcenter today with retail pricing on the OEM version at $349...

This was a typo which is now corrected, sorry it took me so long to get back here.

While we are correcting website typos, you have the Thermalright 120 extreme listed as "Termalright". I would assume you would want to be notified of any errors on your website, not that it's going to keep me from ordering from AVA. In just a few days i hope to order my new system.

Much better!:D Now all I need is to see if the 9800GTX is worth picking over a G92 8800GTS and I should be set.

We're getting few of them tomorrow. We'll bench them and I'll let you know if I have time. Will be at FOSE all next week, but I'll try

Misha

I heard about the reductions, but it's getting harder and harder to put off getting a new system.Maybe if I see some good no nonsense reviews comparing the Q9450 and Q6700 head to head,it would help me decide if was worth waiting.
