Haven't purchased a new computer since 2008... WoW never increased its reqs lol, but finally moving on to a new system and just wondering how a quadcore from 2007 hangs against i5 and i3 cpus?

A Core i3-2100 is faster than or equal to a Q6600 depending on what you're tasking it with.
See this comparison for some quick details: http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/53?vs=289

Notice the main equal area is in x264 encoding, which would greatly benefit from the two additional physical cores on the Q6600.

The Core i5-2500k is significantly faster, even before overclocking, in all areas.

You can also compare the Q6600 to a number of other processors if you'd like to get a feel for it. You'll notice it's actually pretty similar to some $100 AMD CPUs.

Thanks for that link. I always forget about it. I need a third PC and trying to map out the best possible solution so it will come in handy.
