Q6600 vs i3 530

So I found a ridonclulous deal on a core i3 530, and now I am deciding on which processor should be at the heart of my houses server.

This server will:

Download and extract
Serve Music over the network
Transcode media via MediaTomb
Be a web server and file server
etc

Is the q6600 or the core i3 530 better for these tasks?
The other processor will be at the heart of my general use pc (gaming, watching hd content, etc)

i3 530 is a decent OC'able dual core chip for "general use pc (gaming, watching hd content, etc)".

Q6600 is Core 2 Quad but might be slower on single core tasks. So I would say that would do the server tasks better.
