I haven't had a desktop system in 18 mos, and am building one for general use and gaming at 1920x1200. I know after a certain point at that res., that the cpu is irrelevant to fps. The system only needs to be usable for 12 to 18 mos, before I upgrade to i7.
Now for non gaming use, and just general multitasking (ie: we browsing, photo scanning, winamp, messenger) is there any real advantage to the Q6600 using Windows XP pro ? Or do the real advantages of quadcore only show up under Vista ?
