q6600 to e8400?

right now i have a q6600 that i cant get above 3ghz with safe temps. if i get a e8400, that i know i can get to at least 3.7ghz with my rig, and if its used for gaming, and no encoding (except for the ocassional dvd rip) would the swap be worth it? or should i just wait til next month when they take 200 bucks off a Q9550, or the e8600 which is 3.33 ghz which also comes out next month. man, i don't know.
 
wait a little longer for something better (like a cheap 45nm quad). You have a q6600 @ 3Ghz you should be good enough for everything.
 
You are not happy with your CPU? Humm If you got money to burn then buy what you want. I don't think you are going to get anything better than what you have in terms of dollars and performance. I would just save my money until the 2nd or 3rd revisions come out on the next pinset CPU sometime next year for a mature platform.

P.S.
Pls sell that Q6600 to me cheap...I need that since I am running a Pentium D 820.
