Im getting a 10C difference between my cores... is this normal? I used arctic silver 5 and did the line method across the two cores like the arctic silver site said.

Those are at peak load temps and im slowly seeing them get closer together.. weird. At idle its closer. I have a feeling it might just be the chip its self. Im reading about a lot more ppl seeing the same thing no matter how many times they re-seat or lap their heatsink. I used arctic clean and a thin line in the right direction. I really dont want to have to re-apply this again.. such a pain to get it out of the case.

its normal because most applications only use one core, and it goes on the first one usually. What are the core temps?

I'm using OCCT to test stability all 4 cores are being worked equally.

Im seeing 60/50/52/60 at one hour into OCCT.

When I lay PC flat my temps get a couple C closer together. I think it could be the weight of the push pull setup. I probably need to brace this somehow.

Well I decided to go ahead and lap the IHS and heatsink. I found out both had a nice hump in the center which created a small contact area. The paste wouldn't even spread properly it was so uneven. It took about 3 hours to do both and when I was done I got ~10c drop in my temps and now my cores are only 8C off instead of the 10-11C differences I was seeing. This made all the difference. Temps after 10 hours of OCT were 55C down from 66C. This is with the quad @ 3.4ghz adding .125mv to core voltage. The heatsinks is the new Noctua with a push/pull setup and Low noise fan adapters so it runs silent and cool. I guess my main problem was just two bad uneven surfaces.
