q6600 temps?

Stock/OC'ed what kinda of times are you guys getting?
mine is a b3 and its like 50-60c stock and 60/75c oc'ed at 3.ghz and im useing a 9700 to cool my cpu

Those are good temps! I'm running Prime95 latest version (25.4) small FFT's now for about an hour and I've stablized here at 405 FSB (just over 3.2ghz):

core 0 is 70, 1, is 65, 2 is 66 and 3 is 69 according to CORETEMP.

UGURU has me stable and holding at 59C.

As long as my temps stay under 71 in such extreme situation as this I'm stylin.

My ambient temp in the room is around 80°F, just because the room stays hot due to all the computers in that room.

I am comfortable with my speed, I might try to push it but i am happy.

Weird I'm coming up on 5 hours of straight 100% core with prime95 now and my temps have stablized to 57 in uguru and dropped to 68, 62, 63,68; this is with the ambient around 80 at 3:00; hot time in texas.

Looks like two cores have the hotter side of the equator, heh. Anyway, I'm about to call this thing stable at the speed in my sig and do some gaming but maybe I'll push through to the 6 hour mark just to satiate the [H]ardcore out there, heh

I have my 9700 dialed down using their speed control to around 20-30% above low so its not super audible. My temps seem to be pretty high, under full load the nvidia monitor program is reporting 78-80C, and Core Temp is showing 2 of my cores up around 91C. Is this way too hot, or am I ok?

Second question, because this is a B3 would I get significantly cooler temps using a G0 core?

I have a B3 that Idles at 27-29C at stock speeds in my stacker with a Scythe Infinity with 2 120MM Fans in Pull/Push.
I wonder if I should OC it?

You sure are running a little hot and a G0 would be a bit colder but I think you big problem is your heatsink.
I would recommend getting a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme. It's a bit pricy but it is well worth it.
The Thermalright comes without a fan so you need to get a fan as well and a very good one that moves a lot of air and is rather quiet is Scythe S-FLEX SFF21F 120mm. Just make sure it is the F model (SFF21F) as they make a D and E model as well but they move a lot less air.

Just make sure it will fit in your case, this heatsink is a big motha.

My G0 is running slightly overclocked, 3.0 ghz at stock volts. Hottest core is 52C after 2 hours of Orthos. Using an IFX-14 with 3 x 120mm Coolermaster fans on the tower and an 80mm on the backplate cooler. Believe it or not, this setup is quieter than the stock hsf even with all the fans at full speed.

What kind of cases are you guys running that can fit a Theramlright Ultra120 Extreme? The damn thing is 16cm tall, then you got to have a fan on top of that? adds like 2cm? My current case is 20 cm wide and there's no chance to fit it.

I've looked at Lian Li cases and most are 21cm wide.

Is there any midi towers wide enough?

I've been recommended Cooler Master Stacker because you can fit a lot of fans, and it's got a lot of room, that's a full tower though. 25 cm wide, will that do?

I have the antec 900, it moves a lot of air. The 200mm fan on top near my HS helps.

I have 40c on idle and 50-55c on load.Oc @ 2.8ghz with 1.22v and I have B3 stepping. I have also a antec Nine Hundred witch i have 4x120mm fan + 1x 200mm fan with a Arctic cooling pro 7 cpu cooler. I just don't know if i should put back to 1.21v.

Im running a Q6600 G0 with the Thermalright Ultra Extreme in an Antec 900 Case

OCed to 3.6GHz, Vcore at 1.42V with Ambient at 23C

Core Temps at Idle are
37, 37, 31, 31 with CPU at 28C

Core Temps at Load are (2xOrthos with Small FFTs)
70, 70, 58, 58 with CPU at 58C

Thats with C1E and Speedstep Disabled

You don't have the fan on-top on those heatsinks, it is on the side, so the fan will not build anything on the height so if you have a case that is 20 cm wide it should fit easy.

I'm using the Coolermaster Stacker 832 and it fits on the removable motherboard tray (just barely!). I did however have to remove the 4 fan assembly on the sidepanel because it was banging into the top of the heatsink.
