At what temp does damage start occurring to the Q6600?

What is a "comfortable" under-load (testing) temp?

I don't know what temps will damage it, but I have always heard that if you keep it under 60C on full load you should have little to no problems.

Right now I am on 3.7 GHz and load temp on SMP folding just hits 59C.

Thanks for that info.
You must be water cooling?

Nah, not at all. There are several factors that have allowed these tempartures.
Heatsink: Scythe Mine
Thermal Paste: MX-2
Processor is lapped as well as the the heatsink base.
And I also have my heat vent closed and my window open, in the dead of winter..

If I recall correctly the thermal specifications document from Intel for the processor states that 70c is the maximum thermal threshold of the processor. The G0 can handle an increase to 75c or so if I recall correctly. With that said many people report greater temperatures than that without stability issues or premature failure.

Sounds good!!

I am new at this and have a modest increase to 3.2Ghz.

Here are some temp/fan readings I just took.
Fan1 is the Zalman.
