I have an Asus P5n-e SLI with 2x2GB OCZ SLI Ready memory pc6400 and 8800GTS SLI setup. I was told that in order for my sli setup to work to its fullest potential I need to achieve a cpu clock of at least 3.2GHZ. I am new to overclocking so bare with me.
I started increasing the fsb and running the wprime stability test and reporting back with no errors.(btw, i am running intel stock cooler) I managed to get my fsb up to 1175MHZ with a vcore of 1.3V which I hopefully can bring down a lot. While running wprime my temps were 60, 60, 56, 56. When I try to go to 1200MHZ fsb my system crashes when the vista screen is loading. No matter how high I set the vcore voltage it crashes at the same spot everytime. When i back the fsb down to 1175mhz it works fine.
My vcore is 1.3, my northbridge is around 1.3v and my ram is 2.1v.
I have a G0 stepping and a my bios version is 901. Ive tried updating but would have some sort of problem.
Am I an unlucky owner that got a bad chip for overclocking or is there somthing i am not setting?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
