Just change everything back to default settings then set your FSB to 333, multiplier to 9 and change the DRAM divider to 2, or 1:1 ratio. That'll give you 3.0Ghz and remove the memory from the equation for the time being. Also make sure your memory voltage is set to the memory's spec. Anywhere from 1.8 to 2.3, depends on what memory you are using. And lock the PCIe frequency to 100.
You shouldn't even have to touch the vCore to get 3Ghz stable. Set it to your CPU's VID. Then you can start raising the FSB a little at a time. Baby steps here. Keep raising it until the system becomes unstable then give it a bump in vCore. Might also give it a bump of +0.1v to the MCH and FSB while you are at it. Doing it this way will keep your memory running below 800Mhz until you get a stable CPU overclock. Once you get your CPU where you want it you can then start playing with the memory ratio to get that where you want it. Probably best to leave it at 1:1 or 2 depending on your mobo.

MCH is the northbridge. Upping the voltage slightly on that could help with stability.
If you're at 3.6 don't expect much more.

It happens... my Q6700 is a total dud while the Q6600 I got for my friend is a blazer...
3.5GHz barely touching the V... maybe 1.32V at most.
I'm 3.1GHz with 1.35V...
i dont know dick about overclocking past the vram, fsb, and multiplier. currently i have my Q6600 at 3.5 mostly stable on 1.475(i think)V. im using a cctf. the tim was applied last night so its not really set yet. im using 389x9. i was able to boot fine at 400x9, but prime95 killed it pretty quick (maybe 3 mins). any hints for what i can do to get it stable at 3.5 or even 3.6? my ram is 4GB 5-5-5-15 1066 mushkin set to those timings, speed on auto. i dont know anything about the other settings so any suggestions would be appreciated.
