Just a preview for now until I figure out how Q6600 Kentsfield performs on Asus 680i Striker Extreme :)

Seems Asus 680i Striker Extreme still has an FSB limit like all 680i boards when it comes to Kentsfield. Although it seems Asus 680i Striker Extreme does a bit better on FSB front than other 680i boards.

H20 setup:
Swiftech Apogee -> Radiical Triple fan single pass radiator -> T line -> Swiftech MCP655 @12.25v -> Swiftech Apogee
System:
  • Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 QUPT B3 Step 7
  • Swiftech Apogee/Radiical Triple Single Pass/[email protected] Kayl Custom 100W Psu
  • 2x 640MB Gainward 8800GTS SLI
  • Asus 680i Striker Extreme rev1.0 0402 bios
  • 2x1GB OCZ PC8000 Titanium AlphaVX2
  • 1x 160GB Seagate 7200.7 SATA NCQ on SATA2 port
  • Pioneer DVR-05 DVD Burner
  • 600W OCZ EvoStream Modular Power supply

Seems 336-345FSB is where my Q6600 Kentsfield is for max FSB with 0402 bios.

Seems raising CPU VTT from 1.4v to 1.5v helped but only in conjunction with raising NB volts from 1.55v to 1.65v. 345FSB seems fine so far.

Seems although I set 848.1mhz real memory clock in bios = 424mhz, cpuz in windows reports 416mhz. So I ran with it as is and will redo 424mhz later.

1. waiting on the initial batches of last minute resistor changed 8800GTX to disappear completely
2. already have several brand manufacturers pledging 8800GTXs samples so just waiting and bought 8800GTS SLI for the time being
3. only have 1600x1200 LCD mon, 8800GTS SLI is enough for most things :)
4. cost reasons since i already bought lots of nice ram/core2 duo/quad cpus couldn't afford much more LOL

Okay time to bring the Quad 8 ths Corsair Ferrari modules out for a spin in Super Pi 32m calculation.

Eva2000 I have the same MB, but Im using an e6600 at 360x9 =1440 fsb
memory corsair 8888 Running at 3-3-3-5 1T 800mzh
Advanced settings in memory just like yours
TRRD 4
TRC 1
TWR 6
TWTR 8
TREF Auto................ you didnt list this setting, so I left mine on auto
TRD Auto
TRFC 22
Async Latency Auto... you didnt list this one either, so I left mine on auto

Seems my 2GB OCZ PC8000 Titantium Alpha VX2 likes CAS4 better than CAS3. 3-3-3-4 1T can get me to around 428mhz at 2.45v but 4-3-3-4 and 4-4-3-4 1T can get me to around 444mhz at lower vdimm of 2.4v. 32M time for 416mhz 3-3-3-4 1T vs 444mhz 4-4-3-4 1T at same advance timings for 4-1-6-8-22 has 444mhz 4-4-3-4 1T only 0.859 seconds slower :)

are all these review boards?, I'm getting mine early though the retail channel, I bet I have to update my bios to 0701 from whatever the board came with.

to offset the price of the board, I might get a 7900GS/7600GT to start off with.

Sweet overclocking with the new hardware!

Can you tell me where you got that version of Prime95 25.1

I cannot find a download for it - and I have Googled it a lot.

thanks
