Shocking, but true. I'm using the Scythe NINJA Plus CPU Cooler and used Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound. And I have no fan blowing on it, just a Mid-Tower case with a fan in the front bringing in the good air (cooling 2 HDDs), and a fan in the back taking out the bad.

Mobo & programs I've tried all read it the same.

Will be overclocking this baby by far! ^_^

its actually at 39C which is still very good. speedfan is 15c wrong. use coretemp to see the actual temperature.

Hmm.. that's weird, so my Motherboard is also 15C off? Or does windows XP take 15C to function?

I just tried coretemp though, and you're right, it shows me 38C.

as far as i know only the cores themselves are off.

Oh.

Well it's much better than my P4 which for some reason was always in the 50-60+ zone, not OC'ed, with 2 120mm fans blowing and 2 taking the bad air on the same Scythe NINJA CPU cooler.

What is a safe temp for the Q6600 anyways? In the 60's?

Haha, I knew it was going to be speedfan and that 15c thing before I opened the thread...

There is a way to add 15c to it and fix it but I can't remember.

q6600 at full load in the 60s is safe. high 60's u gotta be careful.

idle temps stock speed w/ stock fan is around 35-44c(B0 stepping) not sure about G0.

Cool, thanks. :)

Anyone else know how to fix the 15C bug in SpeedFan? Besides to wait for the next release. :p
