do you think a bios update would solve it???

What bios are you using on the P5K - Deluxe ?

So..... even with this error you got,you were able to install a OS (Vista) and it booted up and ran anyway.... ? What bios does it say its using when you boot ? Oh,and do you have a g0 or a B3 stepping Q6600 ?

i had the same problem.Just download the latest bios from asus (603 i think) it has been revised for the G0 stepping. solves all of your problems!!

Perhaps your motherboard is incompatible with your CPU? Shurley shome mishtake? A BIOS update should fix your woes. If all else fails you can always contact ASUS' (non-existant) tech support.
