Before I ask my question here is my current setup that I just built:

Q6600
IP35-Pro
OCZ SLI Ready 2x2gb DDR2 800

My processor is lapped with a Freezer 7 Pro and currently clocked at 3.42ghz (380x9). Everything is fine and dandy so far and really enjoying it. I have been running stable for about a month now and it has been tested under Prime95 which it does get a bit hot (64 C) but under normal conditions and gaming they are never near that temperature.

Anyway to my question...I have been hearing that Intels and especially the Quads love their memory divider to be 1:1. If this is true how do I go about this and what is the advantage.

to get 1:1 you'd have to set your FSB to be half of your DRam frequency so say you have 380 FSB, with 9 x multiplier , you need to have your memory divider at 380x2 = 760. AFAIK, I could be wrong, I'm pretty new to OC'ing.

In short, to get 1:1, set your DRam frequency to 2x your FSB.

Depending on the BIOS, the you may have to set FSB:DRAM to 1:1 or 1:2, or set the DRAM speed to be 380MHz or 760MHz - it depends on whether the BIOS reports the ratio or the frequency, and whether it includes the doubling inherent in DDR RAM.

1:1 should be the lowest RAM speed or divider available on an Intel-compatible board.
