Heres what Im running:
Q6600 G0 stepping @ 3.01ghz
Asus P5K mobo
2gigs OCZ ddr2-800
ATI Radeon X1950

I ran 3DMark06 Basic Edition and I got a final result of 6656. I looked at some other scores and people are getting over 19000! What could I be doing wrong? Why are my scores so low?!

Any input is appreciated.

You have a pretty obsolete graphics card. CPU will only help but so much in these sythetic, and otherwise pointless benchmarks. If it plays the games you enjoy at a satisfactory performance level, then don't worry about it.
 
How obsolete is this card? I was told it was good! Isn't it only a few months old ?

Most 16,000+ 3DMark06 scores I have seen are on SLI systems. It also depends on your resolution.
 
Yup -- Graphics card related. 3DMark is a gaming benchmark that relies heavily on your GPU. Although the CPU does have a role in this benchmark, it does not play as significantly as your GPU.

Please give me a link to some proof of 19 000 with a similar setup as yours. Why are you comparing your 1950 radeon to overclocked 8800 gtx/ultras in sli, since that's the only way to get such high scores (well maybe 2900xts in cf could work too).

Calm down SuperKeijo. The OP never stated he saw those scores with the same setup as him. He just wanted to understand how people within his comparison group were able to get such a high score... As we let him know it is because they are running with more up-to-date graphics cards (in SLI too).

Geesh- Why does it seem that lately people in these forums are apt to throw stones instead of being helpful. :confused::confused::confused:
 
drm: Try to compare scores from the CPU test instead. That should be more suited for comparison with different videocards.
 
My current score is 12046 with the setup in my signature .. the first one of course ;)

Your graphics card isn't obsolete by any stretch of the imagination. It's just not "the big boy on the block". If you want to compare your score to others make sure you're comparing "apples to apples" as much as possible.
