Ok basically i got my Packard Bell ixtreme 2712, 3 gb ram etc.....basiclly i plugged the socket in the back of the tower and plugged it in a extension, i moved it forward and it come on, i then put it back and then it went off, so the first time it boots it goes off because of a loose wire, so now ive just plugged everything in and put it on. ive got a p bell mouse and a p bell keyboard so now when i put it on it detects a signal and the button "connect" flashed green everytime i put it on and it lets me choose to run windows normally after the error when i reboot it. But, when the bar comes up and says microsoft coporation, no logo comes up(maybe that is because its the first time running Windows Vista) but after the bar goes across and it comes to the menu it says:

"Windows has encountered an unexpected error, press ok and restart the computer to continue with the installation"

And on top of that the mouse and keyboard act as if they are not there and it doesn't even flash green on the connect button, before the microsoft coporation bit it flashes when i press it, after that though when it comes to the error it doesn't even flash, i have 6 usb ports so ive tried them all.

(the keyboard and mouse problem starts when the error menu comes up)

Any suggestions please
 
No idea, your post doesn't make any sense to someone who wasn't there when it happened. I honestly have no idea what you are talking about, but maybe it's a corrupted hard drive. It'd help if you explained these green connect lights and went step by step with whats wrong. Pretend we have never seen your computer before, because he haven't.

I'll agree with #1 (though I would have worded it more sincerely).

#2 however I'd have to disagree with. I'm pretty sure everyone around here wants to help other members so long as we know what's going on. Don't listen to n00bies, they don't reflect the [H] attitude accurately.

To OP: I'm so sorry that you bought Packard Bell. You've been ripped off. If you still can, return that thing ASAP.

"IVE BEEN WAITING FOR AGES" doesn't lend itself to being helped. If the [H] attitude is being subservient to someone yelling at you, then you have a lot to learn about life.

And "don't listen to n00bies" is incredibly stupid. My input has no less value than yours because I have fewer posts on a damn forum.

I agree with retrorocketz. Shouting like that is rude, unwarranted, and most certainly against the hardforum rules. Unless the OP can better explain whats going on and tone it down a good bit, I doubt any help can be given.
 
I had a Packard Bell 386 back in the day. Killed the damn thing trying to install a 14.4 modem. (It had a built-in 2400 baud on a proprietary connector that was making it impossible for my system to use the modem.

To AshTrai:

1. learn to speak/write better English. Noone can help you, if you don't describe your problems clearly.

2. If the lights are not coming on the mouse or keyboard, possibly you broke the connectors on the back. Its common when people move their PC's around, etc. I'm guessing you did something stupid like jam it back against the wall and broke connections on your motherboard.

More importantly, what the hell is this doing in the Intel processors section. Just because your machine has an Intel processor doesn't really make this the appropriate forum. Especially since the problem here is likely you, not your computer anyway.
 
he probably just googled "computer problem" and stumbled upon [H] by accident.
