Q-Pack Temp wires.

Hellooooo,

On the Aspire Qpack you have a digital display on the front, this tells you the temps of the board and the cpu. on the inside there are 2 wires that are flat packed with little thermostat type things on the end.


My question is were do you put these things? does the cpu one go under the heatsink?? and i think the mobo one might go under the Northbridge heatsink, but i am not to sure.
 
you got it...but one is HDD I thought. They are kinda worthless but you can use them if you want. the problem is, you don't want the prob to lift the heatsink off too much.
 
I dont think it will as it isnt that fat, but i did wonder as you want as good connection as possible in there, i may just attach it to the heatsink on the other top end, dont really wanna go ruining my contact as i am putting together my opty beast tonight, cant wait!! got the new MSI 6150 FID board, looks really nice. The on board graphics has a digi out!never seen that before.
 
well a sheet of paper isn't fat but put that under the heatsink and your CPU will burn up. It would cause a huge difference but I don't like using them..:)
 
Yeah you are right think i will give it a miss, shove one up me bum and se how hot i am!

Also i have a 50 inch DLP monitor so stand by for the photos in the other thread.
 
I put mine on the side of the heatsink, kinda towards the 1/3 towards the processor.
 
I just ripped them out, along w/ the molex cable for the Temp Bay, and the TempBay Itself. That got rid of 3 useless cables for me. I am going to be sanding and polishing my qpack this weekend and doing some prep for cabling. I should have it wc'd in about 1-1.5 months, If I decide to do so. I have to pay off my card and stuff before I can invest in the wc'ing. I am going to round all the aluminun edges and sand the aluminum until it's smooth and then hopefully polish it, and maybe paint it. I may also cut windows out for for the sides of the panel. Although, I'm thinking It might be easier just to sell the qpack and buy the MicroFly. Even though it's ugly. Ultimately I'd like to have the sg01 but the airflow is just horrid.

I did the same thing, Also the HDD probe I put on my, ( or next to ) GPU so I can monitor my video's temp.....EZ
 
yeah thats what i am gonna do, when i decide what card to buy! my head is up my bum with all the choices. i have been doing a lot of reading in to the 7600GT for the price they give good bang for buck.
 
I have a Zalman 7000B, so I just stuck the end of the CPU temp sensor to the lowest slot in the fins that will fit it. It basically becomes part of the heatsink since it's so tightly sucked in to the lowest part of the fin. It's pretty decent for such a simple attachment. It always gives me a reading of about 3-4 degrees off.

As for the HDD temp monitor, since the qpack had such a great positioning for the HDDs to be cooled, I just tuck the temp sensor labled HDD into the gap of my GPU's heatsink and the board.
