Q on USB HDD Adapters

I've had really bad luck with those multi adapters over the years.

Best way that I've found is to get a 3.5 inch hd cage and an ide 40 to 44 pin adapter and just plug it in when needed. This way you also have power. I just picked up a second cage that does sata for when I need that. Once again I got a 3.5 inch cage and just threw the top away. I've used these for a long time with great results.

I have one of those adapters and it has turned out to be pretty flaky. When I really needed it, it didn't work well or at all. I bought it hoping I could pull data off people's drives easily before a format, but it turned out to be a pain....

Get a couple drive trays and do it that way. Get a SATA and a PATA tray and swap in when necessary.
