I posted a while back about my hard drive crashing and coming up with the pxe 61 error and it couldn't find my harddrive. I pulled my drive out and put it back in and windows loaded. Its running really slow again. I ran a defrag and it took forever to finish. It started running better but internet explorer won't work and a few errors pop up when I load windows. one is like I need mxsheild.dll error or something like that. and a common shell error. and can't connect to the local server. I think its a virus but could that be the problem why my drive went out?
 
I'm pretty sure the PXE error is because you have network booting enabled. You should turn that off.

Basically, it could not find/boot from your drive, so it went to the next boot item which was the Network. Of course, you have a server running for this purpose for it to work, and that's why you got the error.

You definitely need to test that drive for defects. Doesn't sound good.

Thanks... yeah I knew about the pxe error. It wouldn't find my harddrive and when i took it out and put it back in it did. How would I test the drive? Is there a program that I can downlod?
 
download the ultimate boot CD. It has hard drive diagnostic programs for all manufacturers
