Yes, pwned, thats what I named the thread.

Soooo. I've done a test over the last few days via monitoring the temperatures on my CPU and Video card.

For the last few days, my video card has idled at 47*C with stock cooling, this video card is an X800XT AIW (AGP). Lovely isn't it? I thought so.

Anyways. The CPU, which was watercooled, idled anywhere from 28*C to a max of 32*C. This includes variations in ambient room temperature.

Now, the variable factor in this test. I've had the watercooling block already connected with hoses and such before attaching it to the video card. So, technically, it has been collecting heat radiating off of the bottom of the video card, but I won't count that because its not even that significant of an increase.

Ok, on with results and so forth.

Setup 1: CPU waterblock, no GPU Waterblock
CPU Idle - 29*C to 32*C
CPU Load - 35*C (owned?)
GPU Idle - 47*C
GPU Load - 77*C (This was acheived in less then 30 seconds via ATI Tool)

Results: Fuck, I'm happy with that on the CPU, thats not a very bad increase or decrease. If I may add, the CPU doesn't increase in heat or decrease when it has been overclocked (3.2 to 3.75)

Setup 2: CPU Waterblock, GPU Waterblock
CPU Idle - 29*C to 33*C
CPU Load - 36*C
GPU Idle - 35*C to 37*C
GPU Load - 48*C (Max temperature acheived)

I think I did good? Considering I am using one 120mm Rad, and 1 Panaflow L1A.

I think these temperatures are very decent. The only temp that I can really see needing improvement on, would be the max load on the GPU. Shit, I guess I should add that I OC'ed the GPU to 580mhz on core, and 550mhz on the memory. I don't feel like getting the stock temperatures on those right now.

Thoughts, questions?

Very nice temperatures. What was the ambient temp? I've also found that adding a VGA block increases the temp for the other components by only a very small amount (sometimes unnoticeable) as long as the flow still remains decent.

The last thing you could do is update the drivers on the VGA card and the bios for the motherboard if you want to see any changes. Note that if you want to compare, you'll have to reinstall the stock again after the updates. Probably not worth the trouble...

Not bad at all as long as you're comparing your 2 different setups. There's no way that you can accurately compare them to another system as they all report temps differently, even if it were 2 systems using the same MoBo. Different bios report differently as do different versions of the same board.

Oh. Its the same setup for both of those tests.

The only difference was that the second setup included the GPU block.
