PWM fans

So I have a Be Quiet dark rock tf cpu cooler and it has 2 PWM fans. The motherboard has 2 fan ports and one is PWM and the other isn't. The fan came with a splitter cable that I plugged into the one PM CPU fan port on the board. On one of the ports on the splitter cable it is missing a pin, but the pin that is missing isn't at the end. If it was like a 3 pin non pwm header, the pin missing would be on the end. I am asking if the fan that is plugged into the adapter will be PWM? Ideally I would like both fans to be PWM.

The missing pin on the splitter cable is the one that reports the rpm value. The fan port on the motherboard can only read only one rpm signal, thus the pin is absent from one of the splitter cable ports. If the fans are identical it shouldn't matter which fan sends the rpm signal, they will both be controlled by the same PWM signal and respond idenically.
