I am using Dashlane now, seems good, it fills in fields itself.
However, if I'd wanted my pw to be stored on a website I could just click 'remember me' in the pw field instead of having some software fill it in. Also, I am running CCleaner, and it cleans all cookies at start up.

I also use Password Corral to store my pws, so I don't get the reason for these
auto-fillers as user is exposed to being hacked on their server.
 
I have used Keepass a lot. Seems to work fairly well. Store the database on a network location so that it can be accessed from both desktop and laptop. (via vpn)
 
I use dashlane and like it. It works on Android must better than iOS though Windows is the most transparent for sure.
 
ok, but why is that better than to just click 'remember me' instead? Dashlane stores all the pws, but the browser and cookies just the pw for that site.

remember me doesn't tell you the password when you delete the cookie or rebuild your PC. :p
 
It is stored encrypted, and accessible on any platform. You are also able to share passwords with other Dashlane users. Our Amazon account password is shared with my wife, same with Hulu and some others. Dahlane can also auto-generate, and auto-change passwords.

I am sure this is not a unique feature set for Dashlane, however I can only speak to it.
 
For automated entry keepass.

I don't use it though and wouldn't myself.

I have different passwords for everything, instead of remembering specific letters or something I just memorize the algorythm for their formulation.

Pure easy example - Skype. I associate Skype with communicating with an Angela. Angela listens to King Crimson like I do, that in turn usually makes me recall 'I talk to the wind', so let's make the password: AngelaTalkstothewind
I got the idea from a xkcd comic.

Edit: oh and for dictionary attacks I'll associate a short number or one digit with the password. In the Skype example, I talk to the Wind is from 1969 IIRC, so every 'i' becomes a 1, every 'b' a 6.
