I am thinking of buying another core. (my current one has a leak). Do I just saw off the pipes that are on it and put my own barbs on?

Do I melt the solder and pull them off?

Can I use JB weld to attach the barbs?

The barbs that I put on... do I buy the ones that are threaded on one end?

I have never done this before and I dont want to mess up yet another core. Thanks in advance for all the help.

You could go the ghetto route that I like, just saw the pipes with about two inches to spare then slip the tubing over the pipes and clamp. Being they're a little big, clearfex/tygon is recommended as it can expand better than other cheap tubing. Plus, you wouldn't be adding any more restrictions to the system (besides the actual heatercore).
