Please post your [H]ard WATERCOOLED computer's information in this fashion:

Overclocker: (your name, or the name you would like to go by)
Cooling Method: (Air, Water, Peltier, or phase change please. If not a known category, list EXTREME)
Tubing Size: (not necessary, but interesting since I'd like to end the tube size debate once and for all. I prefer the Imperial [inches] system here.)
Radiator Size: (Size of your radiator, as 2d surface area, e.g.: 120.1 ; 120.2 ; 80.2. If you can, mention the thickness or the model of the radiator as well)
Cooled equipment: (provided equipemnt puts out atleast 30watts of heat; all gpus, cpus, special exception being chipsets. not hard drives, memory, etc. Numerical value)
Load CPU Temp: (Celsius, please. If you have two or more processors, post your HOTTEST processor. If you can, list the power requirements of this piece of equipment)
Load GPU Temp: (Celsius, please. Again, if you have two, post your HOTTEST GPU. If you can, list the power requirements of this piece of equipment)
Ambient Temp: (Celsius, please. Ambient air outside of case.)
Notes: (Important notations here. Dont list overclocks; it adds too many variables to the equation. If you can, list the power requirements of your equipment, )

With this information I will create a graph showing the standard deviation of all [H]ard performance setups! this information will in turn supply us with the much valued information on the effectiveness of our watercooling setups, and a common ground for those finally choosing to go with watercooling. Without further ado, my setup:

Overclocker: Ubermouser
Cooling Method: Water
Tubing Size: .5 inch
Radiator: 120.1 46mm
Cooled Equipment: 3 (cpu, gpu, chipset)
Load cpu temp: 48C (Prescott 3.0E ; 80watts)
Load GPU temp: 46C (9800XT; ??watts)
Ambient temp: 24C
Notes: ATX v1000 case, rad non ducted, 1 fan. 1gpm. Dangerden RBX, Maze4, Z-chipset

Merry Christmas! Thanks so much in advance!

All added entrys, with those with the lowest average delta temperature highest:

Image will update at best once every 12 hours. You are ranked in accordance to your average delta for both cpu and gpu temperature. If two average deltas are equal, the owner with the lowest single score wins out. If those two are in turn equal, the owner with the lowest high temperature wins. If THOSE are equal, the owner with the lowest ambient temperature wins out (if they're almost identical in the first place, temperature of the environment can only be a deciding factor)
Keep 'em coming, please!

Mhhh, I think we won't get any compareable results because some people have their fans at 100% while testing, and others have not...
With my "better" results I would achieve an average delta of 18.

Truly sorry, Shoggy. I will list your best results instead.
Edit** Leeum, you are an outlier, and will not be included in the graph untill someone can produce comparable results. Please supply me with the load temperature of your graphics card as well, please.

Hmm that's no problem. No idea what my GPU temp is - the 9800 Pro doesn't have a temp monitoring facility :(

WTF. How did Leeum get into the graph before me... I posted my stats and so forth before him...

Leeum, i'm almost willing to bet that there is a temperature diode on your video card. Try downloading ATi Tool and see if you can enable temperature monitoring.

Thats the least of the worries, there are so many unaccounted for variables it isn't even funny.

This tickles me pink, it just goes to prove that what I've said about 80mm rads is true. They are just as viable as their bigger brothers. I'm running 2 rather low CFM fans at about 9v on my rads (one per rad) and I'm still getting temps in the middle of the pack.

I'm just hoping that moving my loop to full 1/2" won't hurt my performance by speeding the water up through the rads too much...

He likes his 80mm rads but can anyone else comment on a single 120 vs a 120.2? If you look at TehRoflcopter specifically his temps are crazy low with a single BIX. He seems to be one of the few using Danger Den and a P4 so it might just be specific to his setup.

Of all the ways to decrease your temperatures with a computer,
Lap Heatsink
Remove IHS
Duct computer
Test both in/out of fans
shroud fans
software pc throttling
remove bubbles from radiator and system
**reseat block

Madmat and STeeeeve must have done ALL of them, and more.

Nope, I just got lucky. I'm running a 33% oc on my CPU with the Vcore at 1.65V and my GPU is pegged at 385mhz under load with all the pipes unlocked.

One thing I do follow is the install instructions for AS3 (yup still use it) and that's putting a b.b. sized bead on my IHS and letting the block do the spreading. That and a paper thin coat on my GPU core.

My idea of lapping something is making sure there's no burrs on it. :) Living with CTS is a bitch.

You really cant take any of these results for any type of comparison. First of all the methods of temperature measurement are horrible. People have different boards with different bios versions, this can change the temp the board registers. Fans can be running at different speeds, how many of you are actually measuring the ambient temp around your case? I know that the area where my case is runs hotter than the rest of the house... Different processors running at different speeds and different overclocks putting out different heat loads. The list goes on and on.

So many different unaccounted for variables make this a poor way to compare components people are using. It is more of an interesting endeavor than any actual way of comparing the components. Not to mention that one of the best ways of evaluating a radiator is to get the difference between idle temps and load temps. That will let you know whether the radiator is the weak point in the cooling system or something else.

I dunno about you but I can tell when my fans are running at different speeds just by listening to them...when they're at different speeds there will be a harmonic that varies in pitch and frequency. If you've ever used harmonics to tune a guitar you'll understand what I'm talking about.

As to my ambient temps I'm just going off what my digital thermometer tells me...as my rads are setting out in the open I can place it millimeters from the them to measure the temperature of the air going past it. I'm not saying it's a precision insturment, it's just intended for taking the temperature of a person but I figure it's pretty close.

You know, it's funny. There's not much of a way to get a "True" reading of what's going on in a die since a thermal diode next to it is taking a temp from outside, the thermal diode inside it is "inaccurate at best" so what the hell are you going to do? I get 34C at idle and 42C under load with my Ambient at 22C, these are all temperatures recorded by human designed equipment in an imperfect world. You can either take it as being as accurate as is possible to get or ignore it. The choice is up to you, me I can give a damn what anyone else thinks, I'm happy with the results I'm getting.

Give it a rest.... This is called REAL WORLD. Why don't you post your killer results, if you actually watercool.

Erasmus354 does have a point though. These results can only be taken with a grain of salt at very best.

There are simply too many variables. A similar debate goes on with the testing of the Swiftech Apogeee vs. the Storm.

Some people may report outstanding temperatures, but what good is it if the sensor is
A) Calibrated incorrectly
B) Measuring incorrectly
C) Malfunctioning/inconsistent
D) All of the above

But anyway, just for the record, here are my results at stock:

Overclocker: Darkenreaper57
Cooling Method: Water
Tubing Size: 7/16'' ID
Radiator Size: 77' Bonneville Heater core (120.2) and 86' Chevette (120.1) in series
Cooled equipment: Opteron 146, 6800 GT
Load CPU Temp: 36C
Load GPU Temp: 52C
Ambient Temp: ~23C
Notes: Coolant temperature 25C, CPU Idle 32C, GPU Idle 48C. Using Aquaxtreme 50Z, Criticool Waterplant reservoir, and completely custom external w/c system.

EDIT: I put in the temps from memory. I thought they were higher than they actually are. Fixed.

You want us to use stock settings, right? What about vcore? This setting varies from CPU to CPU (even within the same core and speed rating).

You cant trust these results, omg nerf.

This is part of a much larger study that is vastly unfinished at the moment. Once complete, I hope to have upwards of a hundred watercooled computers listed for posterity, and then plan on taking averages of all of those. Unfortunately, most people dont seem to know how much power their periperals actually draw, making this more difficult. The innacuracies listed by Darkenreaper are very true. However, with every large survey, the truth is in the numbers. If I were to ask people to be more specific, I would have to limit my survey to those who truly know what they're doing, or rather have enough free time to find out. I've a feeling I'd loose far too many results if I were to ask questons that would require the user to be overly specific.

At its best, this project can tell us vaguely what to expect from different watercooled computer setups, based off of the relative backpressure on the pump and the estimated dissipation of that system's specific radiator.
At its WORST, this project will tell us how awful those built-in motherboard temperature monitors really are ;)

Make way for the systems, please. No chatter unless you've a system. It doesnt even have to be yours, it just has to be an actual system with the required information.

Yes, this is not a thread about the dynamics of testing waterblocks. It is simply a way for users to see different peoples results with different hardware. Why/how this thread should move any other direction is just to thread jack.
