Instead of a common toggle switch or rheostat I decided to use a PushOn/PushOn switch to alternate between 12v and 7v for my fans. Basically, you push the button to switch between modes. I didn't see this in the FAQ so I thought I'd share. Here's a leet paint drawing of the circuit:
To mount the switches I carefully (with pliers) removed the front port mic and headphone connectors as well as the firewire port connector for good measure (my mobo doesn't even support firewire and X-Fi cards don't work with front audio connections...).

The other switch is just an On/Off switch for UV lights.
