Does anyone know if having both a push and pull configuraton on my radiator will yield a noticable gain? My current setup is as follows ( Apogee, MCR220 radiator , MCP655 Pump and MCRES-Micro reservoir) Keep in my that I did undervolt my fans to 7v, they are capable of moving 72cfm.But this really did not alter my idle temps afterwards.I idle around 39C with an average ambient of 23C, while my load temp is 50C (orthos- small ftts). My overclock is a e6700 @ 3.5 with 1.437 vCore in bios.

I'm just curious because I frequently see people posting idle temps wiith similar setups and ambient temps, but they idle at around 33-35C and at times are using more vCore. I'm just really puzzled by this.

Possibly the idle temp on initial boot? :D Yeah, mine idles those temps also, but once at equlibrium I'm at 39-42 at room temp of 78F. 6600/3.6/1.3875V (hot running B chip)

You know, that thought did cross my mind. If thats the case then I idle at 30C :D .

Thanks for the tip. I didnt want to add more fans if there wouldnt be a noticable gain.

Keep in mind that people don't always report accurate temps. Could be that they're flat out lying, that their temp probes aren't calibrated correctly or software not reporting good temps. I was messing around with Everest cpu stability test last night and it was reporting 7c idle and 30c load temps. That's the coolest running QX6700 I've ever seen. ;)

Your temps look pretty good to me.

Does anyone know if the aero cool turbine 89.3 cfm fan is good for cooling a rad ? I ask because some people state that a high cfm usually doesnt mean it creates enough static pressure for cooling ?
